In an effort to bring solace to the strife-torn region of Manipur, Salt Lake FC Block in Kolkata has announced an intriguing and poignant Durga Puja theme that seeks to convey a powerful message of peace and reconciliation. The theme, titled "Mother of Manipur," embodies a profound desire to restore tranquility to this picturesque mountain state marred by violence.

Manipur has been witnessing ethnic clashes between Meiteis and tribal Kukis since May 3, severely disrupting normal life across the border state. Until now, at least 178 people have been killed in the violence, thousands of houses burned and more than 50,000 people displaced.

Durga Puja is celebrated with great fervor and creativity across West Bengal, and the Salt Lake FC Block has been renowned for its unique and thought-provoking themes each year.
