Sikkim: 4 more Covid19 cases, state tally reaches 7 cases

In Sikkim, 4 cases of covid19 positive have been detected. Among the 4 cases, 2 are from South Sikkim and 2 belong to East Sikkim.


One 22-yr-old male from East Sikkim has also tested positive who had traveled with the recent Mumbai returnee who had gotten tested in Mumbai and results for which arrived while he was on his way to Sikkim.

Sikkim and Northeast India

Assam has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases followed by Tripura as per the live updates by MOH. Sikkim has the lowest number of cases in NE.

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. On June 6th, the country currently has 237000+ confirmed COVID-19 cases, 115942 active cases with 114072 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 6642

India registered a record jump of 8,909 novel coronavirus cases in a single day (June 3rd).

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 2 thousand deaths. It has recorded 80229 corona cases with 35156 cured, 2849 deaths, and 42224 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 26334 cases with 10315 cured, 708 deaths, and 15311 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 28694 positive cases with 15762 cured, 232 deaths 12700 active cases. Gujarat with 19094 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 13003 have been cured, 1190 deaths, and 4901 active cases.

India now has 6th in most cases in the world and has surpassed Germany. So far, the USA has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in 1,965,708 cases.

Global coronavirus cases have surpassed 6,850,612 cases, with Latin America overtaking the United States and Europe in the past week to report the largest portion of new daily cases globally. It represents a new phase in the virus’ spread, which initially peaked in China in February before large-scale outbreaks followed in Europe and the United States.
