A cabinet meeting held today at Samman Bhawan, wherein it was decided to increase the reservation in jobs for Scheduled Castes (SC) from 4% to 5% along with that some more decisions were taken regarding energy and power department to approve the draft Sikkim State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Employees) amendment regulations, 2018.
Further in the Urban and development approval and sanction of Rs 57,83, 000 for widening of Sonam Tshering Marg (Kazi Road) from Keepsa Hotel to Power Station, Gangtok moreover approval and sanction of Rs.63 lakhs as Central Share and transfer Rs.25.20 lakhs as 1st installment for construction of 42 new houses under Beneficiary - Led Construction at Namchi under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Housing for All (Urban) along with the approval and sanction of Rs.3, 99, 99,000/- for construction of Open Car Park and allied facilities at Namthang and also approving and sanctioning of Rs.1, 99, 35,000/- for infrastructure development and beautification of Tashiding Bazaar and sactioning Rs. 1330 lakhs for implementing projects approved under State Annual Action Plan under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) decision was taken.
In the section of roads and bridges department an amount of Rs.1, 79, 66,813/- for up-gradation of Aritar to Hathichirey road (1.5km) under Pakyong Sub-Division has been approved and an amount of Rs.1, 77, 21,410/- for construction of diversion road from Yangang to Helipad PMGSY road has also been approved and sanctioned.
In the section of tourism and civil aviation department draft Sikkim Tourism Policy 2018 is approved alongwith amount of Rs.68,23,000/- for implementation of Technology Up-gradation Project by Sikkim Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. under the project, handloom-looms and their accessories are distributed to 455 beneficiary weavers during the project period of three years is approved.
In the section of forest, environment and wildlife management department an amount of Rs. 191.14 lakhs for implementation of Management Action Plan for Conservation and Management of Khecheopalri Wetland in West District under National Plan for Conservation of Aquatic Eco-System is approved with an amount of Rs. 310 lakhs for implementation of Management Action Plan for conservation and management of Tamzey Wetland in North/East District under National Plan for Conservation of Aquatic Eco-System has been approved and sanctioned.
In the section of department of animal husbandry, livestock, fisheries & veterinary services sum of 3 crores for construction of trout rearing-cum-production farm at Temchi, North Sikkim under BADP alongwith sum of Rs.49, 57,110/- for distribution of 88 buffalo heifers under State Earmarked Schemes for 2018-19 and Rs.99,34,395/- for distribution of 173 Milch cows, chemical free feed, milking cans etc under State Earmarked Schemes for 2018-19 has been approved.
In the section of rural management & development department amount of Rs.30.41 lakhs for construction of 2.50 M RCC culvert along the PMGSY road from Lower Dorop to Assangthang, South Sikkim and Rs.3020.76 lakhs to be released as grants-in-aid to SIRD, SRDA, Zilla and Gram Panchayats with Rs.133.64 lakhs for restoration of damaged PMGSY road from Lower Rumbuk to Moonewgoan to be met from State fund has been approved.
In the section of social justice empowerment and welfare department sum of Rs.2 crores for providing supplementary nutrition to Anganwadi Centres and Child Care Institutes under State Special Nutrition Programme and Rs. 1 crore and transfer the same to Sikkim State Child Development Society for construction of 204 Anganwadi Centres with Rs. 1199.20 lakhs for the projects sanctioned under Multi-Sectoral Development Programme has been approved.
In the section of department of cultural affairs and heritage sum of Rs.1 crore for construction of Shakti Sthal at Mungram, South Sikkim is approved.
In the section of human resource development department a sum of Rs.31,88,494/- for construction of six- roomed school building at Rongli Junior High School has been approved.
In the section of transport department sum of Rs.2, 29, 47,804/- for acquisition of three 9 KL Tankers and four 19- seater AC luxury buses is approved.
In the section of finance revenue and expenditure department an amount of Rs.152.42 lakhs for development of new Sikkim Integrated Management System Version 2.0 duly replacing the existing Sikkim Integrated Financial Management System and Rs.25.84 lakhs for OFC- Network Connectivity services on rental basis for running of live Sikkim Integrated Financial Management System has been approved.
Lastly many decisions were taken in the section of roads and bridges department, home department, social justice empowerment and welfare department,urban development and housing department, health care, human services & family welfare department, social justice empowerment and welfare department, department of personnel, administrative reforms, training and public grievances, health care, human services & family welfare department and land revenue and disaster management department.
