SIKKIM: INSPECTION OF SUITABLE SITE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF STATUE OF UNITY AND BEAUTIFICATION IN THE STATE

Hon'ble Minister of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim Shri Ugen Gyatso Bhutia accompanied by Hon'ble MLA of Rinchenpong Constituency Shri Karma Sonam Lepcha, Addition Chief Engineer Shri Lakpa Sherpa, SDM Yuksam, Divisional Engineer (West), Range Officer Yuksam from forest department, Junior Engineer (West), Zilla & Ward Panchayats along with local public visited Thapgaydara and Chayadara at Upper Sangadorjee under Rinchenpong Constituency to inspect the suitable site for the construction of statue of unity.

After the inspection the team reached Kanchendzonga Falls under Yuksam Constituency to finalise the beautification work to be carried out at that point as desired and instructed by Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling on 7th May 2018 while going to address the public under Jan Samparka Abhiyan at Yuksam.

After the discussion about the beautification work, team headed to Chamkhang Dara at Dubdi , Yuksam to inspect the proposed land for the construction of park comprising of Statue of Lamas and first king of Sikkim. The monks of Dubdi Monastery accompanied the team to the proposed site and discussion on various aspects about the project was made. Apart from that the team inspected Mega Circuit Site to take the needful decision for early re execution of the project.
