Sikkim: Massive landslide sweeps away two houses, three injured

In a recent landslide incident in the West Sikkim region, three people have been seriously injured while two person went missing.

The massive landslide which occured on Friday at around 8:30 pm swept away two houses in Boom Tafal ward No. 1 , 31 Samdong Sribadam GPU under Rinchenpong constituency in West Sikkim. The slide also swept away houses of Late Sangcho Lepcha and his son Duknam Lepcha alongside killing four cows.

The three injured are Duknam Lepcha (31), his wife Lakit Lepcha (28) and his 10 year old daughter Somden Lepcha are admitted in District Hospital Namchi. According to ward panchayat condition of Duknam Lepcha is critical.

In the meantime Pomkit Lepcha (64) and Normit Lepcha (60) wives of Late Sangcho Lepcha are still untraceable.
