SIKKIM: MINISTRY SECRETARY REVIEWS THE STATUS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF TRIBAL DEVELOPMENT SCHEMES

Union Tribal Affairs Ministry Secretary Leena Nair stated to strengthen the implementation of tribal development programmes and schemes in the North Eastern States including Sikkim in a review meeting held on Friday, at Sikkim.

Addressing at the meeting, Nair gave clear statement that the ministry has ensured for systematic increase in the funding for tribal development. with proper monitoring and implementation of utilization certificates.

She added that the ministry now emphasizes more on frequent visits by officials to all the states to get a view of ground.

Emphasizing on the implementation of the Forest Rights Act (ACT) in the Northeastern States. The secretary stressed that the centre government is serious about giving the FRA duly ensuring that all the legal processes are put into motion and complied with.
