Sikkim: Restaurants and hotels to open amid rising cases

Hotels and Restaurants allowed to open from tomorrow, 10 June at 50% capacity till 8 pm in the state of Sikkim.

Gyms allowed to open from 7 am to 6 pm from tomorrow with 50% capacity.

Shops can stay open till 6pm.

Private vehicles and taxis allowed to ply from 7 am to 9 pm.

Inter district movement of people and vehicle allowed from 18 June following odd even rules.

Meanwhile, as per official information received from DG-cum-Secretary, Health, six (6) more people in Sikkim have tested positive for Covid-19.

Out of the 6 new cases, 4 are from Kyongsa, West Sikkim, 1 from CCCT Chisopani, South Sikkim, and 1 from Himalayan Pharmacy Institute Girls Hostel, Majhitar, East Sikkim.

It was informed that all the 6 persons have been admitted in the Covid-19 Isolation Ward in STNM Hospital.

The total active Covid-19 positive cases in the State now stands at 10.

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. On June 9th, the country currently has 2,67,000+ confirmed COVID-19 cases, 129917 active cases with 129214 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 7466.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 3 thousand deaths. It has recorded 88528 corona cases with 40975 cured, 3169 deaths, and 44384 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 29943 cases with 11357 cured, 874 deaths, and 17712 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 33229 positive cases with 17527 cured, 286 deaths 15416 active cases. Gujarat with 20545 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 13956 have been cured, 1280 deaths, and 5309 active cases.
