Gangtok, July 30, 2019:

The second day of five day long budget saw an interesting turn on Tuesday as the two opposition Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party's legislators attended the assembly going the party's decision.

Interestingly, during the Zero-hour, the two legislators stood up turn wise turn and submitted their petition demanding separate and independent seats for themselves, apart from the SDF's opposition bench.

In the petition they mentioned that since they are elected by the people of their respective constituencies and it is their duty to raise their voice and to bring their issue in assembly.

They expressed that: “We also think that SDF party president has taken a wrong move by boycotting the budget session.”

The two legislators who went against the party decision are: G T Dhungel ( Tadong constituency ) and Em Prasad Sharma ( Namcheybong constituency).
