Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurates Tea Tribes’ football tournament

Guwahati, January 24,2019:

The Chief Minister’s Tea Tribes Football Tournament was inaugurated today at AC Indoor Stadium, Sarusajai, Assam.

The tournament was inaugurated by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Pallab Lochan Das, Minister of Labour Welfare, Tea Tribes Welfare of Assam, served as Guest of Honour.

The Chief Minister and the Minister of Labour Welfare, Tea Tribes unveiled the dazzling trophy which will be presented to winners of the tournament.

The tournament is to be held from 27th January to 15th  February, 2019 by the Directorate for Welfare of Tea and Ex Tea Garden Tribes, Assam.

The tournament is a great opportunity for young and talented footballers to showcase their talent on a grand stage and it will provide a platform for football enthusiasts to enjoy, discuss, participate in the tournament as well as develop the spirit of sportsmanship.

It is believed that the state can progress by leaps and bounds in the sporting arena if such opportunities are presented to the communities of the state.
