Guwahati, April 29, 2019:

'Dhing express' Hima Das has been included in India’s women's 4x400m relay team for the World Relays.

The World Relays will be held next month in Yokohama of Japan.

It may be mentioned that the ace sprinter has been selected despite pulling out of the Asian Athletics Championships in Doha due to lower back pain.

Reports said the coaches and Athletics Federation of India (AFI) officials have said that Hima has been chosen as it is believed that she can recover by the time the World Relays are held. The World Relays are important as far as qualification for the World Championships is concerned.

The team decided by AFI for men is: Muhammed Anas, Jithu Baby, Jeevan KS, Kunhu Muhammed, Rajiv Arokia, and Alex Anthony.

The women's team is composed of Hima Das, MR Poovamma, Saritaben Gayakwad, VK Vismaya, Prachi, and Sonia Baishya.
