Guwahati, May 8, 2019:

Assam son Riyan Parag who impressed all in his debut season and became the youngest to score a fifty in the flagship event is back in finally back in his hometown.

The young sensation finally revealed his lucky charm to Inside Northeast during an informal interaction. Can you guess what the youngster's lucky charm is? Riyan's has revealed that his lucky charm is a gold pendant that has a cricket bat and a ball engraved on it.

"This has been my lucky charm since when I was a kid, I use to nibble on this, and when I went to play IPL my mom made me wear this", Riyan told Inside Northeast.

The young Parag missed out on becoming the youngest half-centurion in the history of the IPL not once but twice in so-close-yet-so-far scenarios before eventually scoring a brilliant half-century against Delhi Capitals to smash Rajasthan teammate Sanju Samson's record. Perhaps it was the lucky charm that came to his rescue?

“I have a lot of experience from my IPL journey, a lot more to learn”, Riyan further said.

Talking about adorning the traditional Assamese 'Gamusa' (a traditional scarf) on the field, Riyan says that he just wants to showcase the culture of Assam to the whole world and says he has been successful in doing that.

Moreover, speaking about MS Dhoni, Riyan referred him to be his dad- like personality who is full of knowledge on cricket. He also mentioned that he is about to meet Dhoni within a short period of time again and he is hopeful to gain more from the cricket master.
