IPL 2020: Rajasthan Royals to Train at ACA Stadium in Guwahati

Guwahati, February 24, 2020:

The members of the Indian Premier League's (IPL) Rajasthan Royals team are expected to reach the city of Guwahati on February 26 to participate in a three-day training camp session at the ACA stadium in Barsapara from February 27 onwards.

The development came to the fore after the Chief Operating Officer of Indian Premier League, Hemang Amin, visited the ACA stadium on Sunday and met with the officials of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) to discuss the holding of IPL matches at the venue.

Guwahati is laying the groundwork and preparing to get ready to host two matches of the nearing IPL match which will kick off on March 29. Rajasthan Royals are set to play their two home games on 5th and 9th of April at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara in the 2020 edition of the IPL, if they receive necessary permission from the Rajasthan High Court. In case the Court does not clear the hosting of the matches in Guwahati, they will be held in Jaipur.

In the meantime, the former champions have decided to use the infrastructure of Guwahati for their training purpose. It has also been reported that the Royals are expected to open an office in Guwahati this coming March.
