Indian football skipper Sunil Chhetri and women's footballer Ashalata Devi won the biggest prizes in their respective categories as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced awards for the 2018-19 season.
Chhetri was declared as the men's footballer of the year whereas in the women's category, Ashalata Devi was announced as the footballer of the year, Goal.com reported.
It may be mentioned Chhetri recently surpassed Argentine great Lionel Messi to become the second-highest goalscorer among active footballers.
Manipur's Loitongbam Ashalata Devi (26) is an Indian professional footballer who plays for the Indian national team and Indian Women's League club Sethu FC. Formerly she also played for Rising Student Club and Kryphsa F.C. She has also played for New Radiant of the Dhivehi Premier League of Maldives. She plays as a central defender. She hails from Manipur's capital city Imphal.
