Meghalaya defeated Manipur by 54 runs in a Women’s Senior One-Day Trophy 2019-20 match in Puducherry on Monday.
The Meghalaya ladies who were put in to bat first managed to pit on 202 for the loss of seven wickets. The innings was built on the back of a fine performance by Saee Purandare who scored 101.

After the fine batting performance, the Meghalayan bowlers through a disciplined performance were able to restrict the Manipuri girls to 148/6 in their allotted 50 overs.
Purandare, who hit 14 balls to the fence, stayed at the crease for 149-balls. Notably, a 16-run cameo from Riticia Nongbet off 12 deliveries at the tail of the innings propelled Meghalaya above the 200-run mark.
Nongbet was also the pick of the bowlers and returned with figures of 3/20 in 10 overs. Daiaka Warjri ended with 2/12 in four overs. Debasmita Dutta took 1/36 in seven overs.
Ganga was the top scorer for Manipur with 41, however her valiant effort went in vain as the rest of the batters were unable to make an impact.
It may be mentioned that Manipur put on 66 for the seventh wicket, though they still fell well short of the target.
On the same day, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland both lost their respective matches at the ongoing tournament.
