Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata clinched the champion’s trophy by defeating Oil India Sports Club Duliajan in the 19th Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup Football Championship, 2018 on Sunday held at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) stadium in Kokrajhar.

The Mohammedan Sporting Club of Kolkata defeated the opponent with 4-3 goals.

The tournament was organized in the remembrance of the martyrs of Bodoland movement, ex-BLT Welfare Society in association with Kokrajhar District Sports Association.

Assam Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma, president of Assam Football Association Hemendra Nath Brahma attended the closing ceremony

All together ten teams participated in the champion’s trophy this year.

Addressing the media, EM Bodoland Teritorial Council (BTC), Rajib Brahma said that the match was played very well by Oil India Sports Club Duliajan versus Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata with a presence more than 50,000 spectators in the stadium.

He added that the BTC administration is preparing to construct numerous stadiums to conduct football competitions in the upcoming time.
