Guwahati, June 6, 2019:

Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has created a lot of buzz during the Indian cricket team's opener against South Africa on Wednesday.

Although India won the match comprehensively on the back of a swashbuckling ton by opening batsman Rohit Sharma, the discussion soon turned to the insignia 'Mahi' had worn on his gloves. MSD had sported the regimental dagger insignia of the Indian Para Special Forces, also known as the 'balidaan' badge on his wicketkeeping gloves.

It may be mentioned that the former Indian skipper, Dhoni, who had led India to a cup triumph in 2011, had previously undergone a two-week initial training with the para regiment.

During the match, MS Dhoni was busy behind the wickets. He was seen giving advice to the bowlers and helping them set the field. He also effected a stumping during the innings. Dhoni then played an important part in India's chase with bat too.

It may be mentioned that this is expected to be Dhoni's last World Cup.
