The Sarala Birla Gyaan Jyoti School, Guwahati, defeated the South Point School, also of Guwahati, by seven wickets to enter the finals of the Inter-School and Inter-District Cricket Tournament under way at the Polo Field in Tezpur.
The Sarala Birla Gyaan Jyoti School will meet the Delhi Public School in the summit clash on Monday. The tournament is organised by the School Sports Promotion Foundation.
In the second semifinal, electing to bat first, the South Point School were all out for a paltry 96 runs. Pulkit Jain was the pick of the bowler for the Sarala Birla Gyaan Jyoti School. He scalped five wickets conceding nine runs in six overs. Manan Maheswari took two wickets while Kaushal Tiwari got one wicket giving away 15 runs and nine runs respectively.
The Sarala Birla Gyaan Jyoti School chased down the target of 97 run losing only three wickets. Tanuj Sharma top scored with 31 runs in 56 balls, followed by Vivek Sandilya’s 21 runs off 31 balls.
