Taking to his official Twitter account, Rijiju tweeted, "Our Women Boxers are back after India's most successful outing at a World Championship. Kiren Rijiju will meet the winners Mary Kom, Lovlina Borgohain, Manju Rani, and Jamuna Boro today and congratulate them for their superb performance."
The felicitation will be streamed live on the official Twitter handle of the Sports Authority of India.
The four boxers brought laurels to the nation by clinching medals. While debutante Manju Rani won silver, the rest won bronze medals.
MC Mary Kom, by clinching a bronze medal, became the first athlete in the sport, either male or female, to clinch eight medals in the World Championships.
Lovlina Borgohain and Jamuna Boro from Assam too had dream runs, with Jamuna's rags-to-riches story providing inspiration for young athletes suffering from poverty to truly make a mark in their chosen fields.
