Two woman Sikkim Footballers selected for national camp

Guwahati, December 24, 2018:

A proud moment for Sikkim as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has shortlisted two woman Sikkim footballers, Anju Tamang and Lako Phuti Bhutia, to attend a coaching camp.

The coaching camp is scheduled from December 27 to April 10 for selection in Senior Women’s National Team at Cuttack, Odisha.

The camp is being conducted to prepare players for the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship in 2019 as well as for the Women’s Olympic Qualifiers Round.

The President of Sikkim Football Association, Menla Ethenpa, expressing his satisfaction at the selection of the girls, added that invitation from the apex football body would inspire the Sikkim Football Association to work more for development of the beautiful game in the state. He also stated that SFA is proud and their head is held high by the two girls and wished them all the very best for the camp.
