Won't Invite Controversy by Commenting on 'CAA', says Virat Kohli

Guwahati, January 4, 2019:

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday, choosing to evade the bouncer of the 'CAA', said that he will never take a side regarding the contentious issue.

Choosing to be diplomatic, Kohli refused to give his verdict, and stated that is he opines regarding the controversial topic, it will only invite controversy. Kohli further said that it would be unwise for him to comment on the matter, as his knowledge regarding the same is very limited.

According to early reports, the Barsapara pitch is a batman's paradise, and adjusting to the conditions will be a big challenge for the bowlers.

Interestingly, Kohli needs just one more run to surpass fellow teammate Rohit Sharma and become the highest run-scorer in the shortest format. Currently, Kohli is tied with Rohit on the top spot with both the players having 2,633 runs.

Rohit, who has been rested from the T20I series, will not be a part of the team, which means Kohli can easily surpass him and extend the gap to cement his position at the top of the list.
