KOLKATA: “Khela has happened in West Bengal, and this time khela will happen in Tripura, Assam, and Delhi in 2024,” said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday, referring to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Mamata Banerjee also stated that she would convene a meeting of all chief ministers to discuss a federal structure, urging them to collaborate.

CM Banerjee said this while addressing the youths on the occasion of the TMC's students' wing – Trinamool Chatra Parishad (TMCP) – foundation day on Saturday.

The TMC supremo also accused the saffron party of only having two jobs--"fire bullets" and one to "hurl abuses."

She slammed the BJP for alleged misrule in Tripura, where the TMC has been able to make a presence, alleging that human rights in the state have been jeopardised.

She also questioned the BJP-led national government's policy of repatriating Afghans.

“Why are not our people returning safely from Afghanistan? “Can you tell me about your policy?” Mamata Banerjee inquired.

Mamata Banerjee slammed the BJP, saying that “when the BJP government in Delhi is unable to compete with us [TMC] in politics, they use agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED).”
