AGARTALA: Tripura royal family has slammed the Congress party over its "low" politics and called it broken and lack of morality as well.

Recently, the All India Congress Committee has reformed its Tripura state unit and appointed Birajit Sinha as TPCC president. In the same list, AICC had included Tripura's Maharani Bibhu Kumari Devi's name as state executive committee member.

"I am surprised to learn from you that the state Congress party leadership has given me appointment in the state PCC, I have not been in active politics since the last 12 years. The present issues that have beleaguered the congress party there even before," said Bibhu Kumari Devi.

Rajmata Devi added further, "Unfortunately the party is at its lowest. Broken mentally and physically. The moral of its workers and leadership does not exist on the ground."

Bibhu Kumari Devi was a two time Congress MLA and she had also served as the Revenue Minister of Tripura.

Devi had also become a member of the 10th Lok Sabha from Tripura East constituency defeating the Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate in the 1991 general election.

"Congress, unfortunately, is weakened due to its failure to recognise an intensified consciousness of the masses in almost most states of the northeast and elsewhere," Devi expressed.

Sharing his mother's letter on social sites, royal scion Pradyot Manikya DebBarma said, "Never in my life can I see the congress party stoop to such lows thereby trying to divide a family."

"Rajmata is not going to revive her political game for the same people who cheated her family. We are from grassroots we are TIPRA," added Pradyot Manikya.
