TRIPURA: IPFT DENIES THE REPORT ON CBI BOOKING 3 IPFT LEADERS

After PTI on Sunday night reported IPFT’s three top leaders including MLA Dhirendra Debbarma who were booked by CBI along with 300 activist of the party, in connection with the murder case of the Journalist Shantanu Bhoumik, last year.

Addressing a press conference the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) denied the report claiming it a rumour and the General Secretary of IPFT Mangal Debbarma statet that “IPFT while welcoming the investigation by CBI on the murder case of Journalist Shatanu Bhoumik, but there are great vine that a few IPFT leaders associated with that incident. The CBI had not booked or interrogated anyone from our party. It only sought permission from the chief judicial magistrate to undertake probe into the murders. “

IPFT has reasons to believe that some conspiracy being hatched out by some elements to harass IPFT targeting for furtherance of the interest of such elements. IPFT strongly protest of such heinous conspiracy and appeal to the general public not to be influenced by such rumours” added Mangal Debbarma.
