In a video which he has shared on his official Facebook page, Manikya says, "I welcome the decision, and all of India, including Tripura. The bonafide citizens should be getting the facilities instead of illegals. The NRC should not discriminate on the basis of jati, religion, or language."
Manikya also urged India to implement a National Refugee policy to differentiate between refugees and illegal aliens. "The genuine refugees who are suffering, and the illegal immigrants can be differentiated then", he clarified.
It may be mentioned here that earlier today, Amit Shah has once again reiterated his intention to implement an NRC on a nation-wide basis.
Addressing the Speaker, the home minister adds that the government will provide asylum to all people, irrespective of religion. “The exercise of NRC will be carried out in the entire country,” he said.
