Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday attacked former Congress chief and Gandhi scion Rahul after the Supreme Court's verdict regarding the BJP's Rafale deal.
The Supreme Court on Thursday gave a clean chit to the NDA government and dismissed the three review petitions on the Rafale fighter jet deal. It also closed the contempt proceedings against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his ‘chowkidar chor hai’ comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After the verdict came out, Biplab took to Twitter to condemn Rahul Gandhi and the Congress for the "baseless" and "false" allegations.
"Rahul Gandhi & his entire party must be ashamed for their baseless & false allegations to defame " data-mentioned-user-id="18839785">@narendramodi ji in the data-query-source="hashtag_click">#RafaleDeal issue for Electoral gains. He & his party must apologise to Nation for politicising & misguiding the people on National Security", Biplab's statement read.
Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, expressing his opinion regarding the verdict on Twitter, wrote, "Gang of perennial rumour mongers gets a rude shock from Hon Supreme Court as all petitions against data-query-source="hashtag_click">#Rafale deal filed by them are dismissed. The "fishing expedition" of Arun Shourie, Yashwant Sinha & Prashant Bhushan goes topsy turvy."
Assam Chief Minister also lashed out against the Congress party over the Rafale issue. A tweet sent out from Sonowal's official account, read, "The SC today confirms what the nation already knew. PM " data-mentioned-user-id="18839785">@narendramodi ji triumphs once again in the face of lies, propagandists and anti-national agendas. Politics to subvert India's defence capabilities falls flat with the data-query-source="hashtag_click">#RafaleVerdict."
