Amid the rise in coronavirus cases in Tripura, a viral video of a COVID-19 treatment centre located in the state capital, Agartala, has raised questions on the part of the government as far as COVID-19 management is concerned.

Around 50-60 youths of the Hapania COVID-19 treatment center can be seen dancing without maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks.

As per information, as many as 161 persons, most of them are stranded returnees, are currently undergoing treatment in the 1000-bedded treatment centre.

It may be mentioned that Tripura has registered a total of 864 confirmed COVID-19 cases and one death due to the infection. Of the 864 confirmed cases, 671 are active and 192 have been cured and discharged.

Tripura has the second-highest COVID-19 cases in the Northeast followed by 304 in Manipur and 127 in Nagaland. Assam has the highest COVID-19 cases in the region.

India COVID-19 cases so far

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. On June 10th, the country currently has 2,67,000+ confirmed COVID-19 cases, 133632 active cases with 135205 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 7745.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 3 thousand deaths. It has recorded 90787 corona cases with 42638 cured, 3289 deaths, and 44860 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 31309 cases with 11861 cured, 905 deaths, and 18543 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 34914 positive cases with 18325 cured, 307 deaths 16282 active cases. Gujarat with 21014 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 14365 have been cured, 1313 deaths, and 5336 active cases.
