Former PWD Minister of Tripura Badal Choudhury was produced in the West district's Special Court, on Friday. From the Court, he was sent to jail custody till November 11.
Badal Choudhury's lawyer Purushottom Roy Barman said that the former minister will be produces in front of Court on 11 November, again.
Badal Choudhury was released from GB hospital on Saturday, and then he was brought to Court. The Court premises was covered by tight security.
Earlier, Badal Choudhury had alleged that police had tortured him and his wife, while he was being shifted from a private hospital to the police station.
While the government's advocate general was being asked on Thursday about this incident, he said it was a baseless allegation.
Badal Choudhury was admitted at that hospital from 21 October, after he suffered from heart disease and cerebral stroke.
Badal Choudhury’s wife Namita Gope has said that her husband’s condition is still critical and that he needs to shift AIIMS now as he was gone through bypass surgery earlier. She told, Badal Choudhury is also a neurology patient.
An FIR was lodged against Badal Choudhury on October 13 night, over a scam in the Tripura PWD. As many as nine Government officials including top-layer police officers were suspended due to failure to arrest Badal Choudhury.
