As the Governor continued reading out his speech, the opposition MLAs holding placard with anti-government slogans written on it descended to the well of the house. Observing the situation, watch and ward staff formed a ring shaped shield around the speaker’s podium but remained quiet.

After a short period of slogan shouting, the opposition members, led by Tapan Chakraborty walked out of the house for the first part of the day’s session. The opposition leader joined the proceedings of the house after two hours of the walk out.
