Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport, Agartala, this evening to attend the 72nd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC).
The high-level session is scheduled to take place from December 20 to 21 in Agartala.
Shah was accorded a warm welcome by Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, former Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, MP Kriti Singh Debbarma, BJP State President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya, along with other dignitaries.
Joining the Union Home Minister in the session are DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Union Minister of State Dr. Sukanta Majumder, who are also arriving in Agartala today.

The 72nd Plenary Session of the NEC will bring together top leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to deliberate on the development and progress of the northeastern states.
