Tripura Police detained four Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian tout at Udaipur Railway Station in Gomati District on Wednesday, October 23.
A Tripura Police official stated that the detainees include four Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian tout, a resident of Odisha.
"This morning, we detained four Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian tout. The tout, identified as Khokan Debnath, a resident of Odisha, assisted the Bangladeshi nationals in illegally crossing the border. We detained them at Udaipur Railway Station and seized 7,186 Bangladeshi Taka and Rs 44,000," the official said.
The Bangladeshi nationals were identified as Rupak Debnath, Jayanta Debnath, Chandan Debnath, and Sushanta Debnath.
They told reporters that they were facing serious issues in Bangladesh and entered India in search of better livelihood opportunities.
