The Government Railway Police (GRP) and Border Security Force (BSF) detained 12 Bangladeshi nationals, including three minors, at Teliamura Railway Station in the Khowai district.
They were en route to other states in search of work.
A GRP personnel informed the media that they received a tip-off about a group of Bangladeshi nationals arriving at the station.
"Based on this information, staff from the Government Railway Police (GRP) and BSF cordoned off the railway station and began checking. During this operation, we detained 12 Bangladeshi nationals, including four males, four females, and four children. They were travelling to other states in search of work. They disclosed that they had entered Tripura through the Silachari area in Gomati District with the help of a Bangladeshi tout who facilitated their crossing of the international border," he said.

The official added that during the preliminary interrogation, the detainees revealed they had spent the previous night in a forested area before arriving at Teliamura Railway Station this morning. "The tout fled after spotting us. We will produce the detainees before the court to seek remand for further interrogation," he stated.
The individuals were identified as Mohammad Siddique (60), Monora Begum (50), Abdul Aziz Ullah (22), Azizul Haque (25), Obaidul Ullah (19), Jamila Khatun (5), Khunshun (18), Kohinur Akhter (22), Sagarika Yasmin (20), Satarai Yasmin (6 months), Nuru Siddique (5), and Mohanti Yasmin (2).
Yesterday, the GRP and Tripura Police detained seven Bangladeshi nationals at Udaipur Railway Station in Gomati District, Agartala Railway Station in West District, and Bishalgarh in Sepahijala District.
