Tripura: Community more important than party or politics, says Pradyot Debbarma

Former chairman of Tipra Motha and Royal Scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on September 15 emphasized the significance of prioritizing the community's welfare over party politics.

When asked whether it would be the last for Tipra Motha in elections since the last elections , Pradyot responded with a thought-provoking perspective. He stated, "Tipra Motha is not that important; Tiprasa is important, and Tipraland is important. We should place our community at the forefront of our discussions and actions. We will fight for our rights till my last breath. I am not ready to accept defeat so easily. We don't want to engage in politics for its own sake; we simply want our rights. To achieve our rights, we need to engage in less politics and engage with the central government in Delhi, at least once."

Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma expressed his concerns about the growing number of adversaries but remained resolute in his commitment to the cause. He emphasized that the struggle for Tipraland's ideology, which promises to secure their rights, is the primary focus of their movement.

He also addressed the recent developments of two leaders joining other party. Pradyot remarked, "Everybody has the right to join a new party; in a democracy, everyone has that right. However, as far as I know, the two leaders who joined the TMC didn't get tickets, so they joined TMC. Even I didn't get a ticket. But our fight is not about the ticket; it's not about the ideologies of CPIM or BJP. Our fight is for the Tipraland ideology, which will grant us our rights. We are fighting for freedom and constitutional rights."

Pradyot acknowledged the challenges of forming a new party, including financial investments and hard work. He wished those who embarked on this path good luck and encouraged them to continue advocating for Tipraland. He urged them to raise their concerns and present their case for Tipraland directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, acknowledging the difficulty of staying in the opposition and fighting for their rights without compromising their principles.
