Hailakandi, March 8, 2020:
Raju Mishra of village Ramnathpur who was kidnapped by a breakaway armed group of suspected BRAU cadres (under ceasefire) was rescued on Sunday.

Mishra, 32, son of Ranju Mishra was kidnapped by the armed Bru Revolutiory Army Union (BRAU) militant group from close to the Assam-Mizoram border area under Ramnathpur Police Station on March 2. After he went missing, the Ramnathpur Police Station registered a case No.17/20, U/S- 364(A)/325 IPC, R/W Section 27 of Arms Act.
Disclosing the rescue of the victim from the clutches of BRAU militant outfit, Superintendent of Police, Pabindra Kumar Nath said Mishra has been safely rescued by the district police from remote Bagcherra-Riflemara area under Ramnathpur Police Station close to the inter-state border after continued strenuous combing operations in the deep jungles.

Nath also informed the media that as many as seven accused have been arrested and produced in the court in connection with the kidnapping case.
