BOGAMATI: In a tragic incident reported from Nagrijuli in Assam's Baksa district, a minor passed away after he was run over by a picnic goers' vehicle heading towards the Bogamati picnic spot along the Indo-Bhutan border that is being thronged by thousands amid New Year's celebrations.
Arun Dorjee, a 13-year-old student hailing from Bangalipara village passed away during a vehicle mishap at the Arun Chowk earlier today. Dorjee was a 7th standard student of the Bhulajhar ME School from Chirang.
According to reports, Dorjee was travelling on a cycle when he was hit by an Alto car (AS-14-8220) that was ferrying picnic goers. The collision occurred on the Tamulpur-Nagrijuli-Udalguri road.

Although Dorjee was immediately shifted to the Tamulpur Primary Health Centre, he was pronounced 'dead on arrival' by the doctors.
Baksa Police has seized the Alto vehicle and investigations are being carried out.
In a related incident, two youths were killed in a tragic road accident at Gumgaon near Bhairabkund in Assam’s Udalguri district, which also falls under the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
The two deceased youths have been identified as Dipankar Baglari from Nalbari and Pritam Jyoti Das from Udalguri.
