Bhattacharya once again reiterated the student body's demand to repeal the CAA, adding that the Government should first secure the rights the people instead of bringing in foreigners. The CAA movement is pro-nation, adding that the PM should not say such insulting things to the people of Assam.

"Giving citizenship on the basis of religion is anti-national", Bhattacharya said, and charged that the amendment of the Citizenship Act violates the Constitution of India.
"Narendra Modi has said in Assam that the people protesting the CAA are anti-national. AASU clarifies that this kind of statement on the soil of Assam is highly insulting to the people..." said Dipanka Nath, the President of the apex student body in Assam. The student leader further opined that people of the state have been burdened with 43 years of Bangladeshi infiltration, and have invited Assam's doom. "Until this party (BJP) and this legislation is defeated, we will continue the protest."
The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA) is an act, passed by the Parliament of India, which amends the Citizenship Act of 1955 to grant a swifter path to Indian citizenship under the assumption of religious persecution to minorities from neighboring Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
