During the three days of the ongoing protests against the controversial amendment of the Citizenship Act, at least 11 people were killed as a result of clashes between police and protesters in UP. UP Police has also informed that over 600 people were taken into custody as part of "preventive action" during the CAA protests.
On Saturday, Delhi Police arrested 15 people in connection with the Darya Ganj violence where a police constable’s vehicle parked outside the Darya Ganj police station was set ablaze. In another incident of CAA related violence, as stone pelting started, police used lathi charge and water cannon to disperse the crowd at Delhi Gate.

Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad was also detained in Darya Ganj on Friday during the mass protest rally that was carried out from Jama Masjid to Jantar Mantar.
The police denied police permission to carry out a protest march on Friday, but despite the prohibitory orders, the people took to the streets and participated in the CAA protest.
Five others were also detained in connection with the clashes in East Delhi’s Seemapuri area.
On Friday evening, as the peaceful Walled City protests in the national capital took a violent turn, at least 45 people, including 13 police officers, were injured.
