Four people have been injured in Guwahati’s Lalung-gaon area, after police blank fired on the activists for protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
Out of the four, one is reportedly critically injured. The injured protesters have been rushed to Excelcare and Ayusundra hospitals in the city for treatment.
Reportedly, the people were protesting on the streets when a clash broke out between the protesters and the security forces. The protesters pelted stones at the police, and in retaliation, the police blank fired on them. In the firing, the four protesters were injured.
It is to be mentioned here that the state of Assam is in a situation of chaos due to the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

Meanwhile, a curfew has been imposed in the city, and mobile internet services have also been suspended in ten districts across the State.
