Fate of 54 candidates to be decided tomorrow, polling personnel on the move

Guwahati, April 22, 2019:

The clock is ticking as the Phase- III of Lok Sabha polls will be held in less than 24 hours in Assam.

To ensure the safe and smooth passage of the election, 38,308 polling personnel have started moving to the 9,577 booths from the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) Guwahati. They are moving to the polling stations of Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, and Gauhati.

436 micro observers, 5 General Observers, 4 Expenditure Observers, and 3 Police Observers have been appointed to conduct the festival of democracy in the North-Eastern state, Assam. As many as 9577 EVM and VVPAT sets have been allocated for the Phase-III polls. In Guwahati HPC, two balloting units have been used as the number of candidates is 17, which has exceeded the limit of 16 in one unit.

The fate of 54 candidates from four Constituencies will be decided tomorrow by 7477062 voters in the Phase-III of the general election in Assam.
