Earlier today, a couple of hundred temporary employees working in different designations under the state Transport Department gheraoed the Secretariat to know about their job status.

This development took place after a Facebook user had uploaded a copy of a departmental notesheet which stated that there will be revision of the employees under the State transport department and they may be be terminated if their documents were found "improper". So, fearing that they might lose their jobs, the Transport employees stormed to the Secretariat seeking an audience with Government employees seeking assurance.

In the leaked notesheet, it was written that appointment of temporary employees hired between 2014 to 2019 is to be reviewed and terminated by Transport department.

The employees who gheraoed the secretariat shared that after seeing the post on Facebook, they simply resolved to verify the contents of the viral note with the Tourism Minister. Since the Minister was busy in a meeting, they said that they would wait until a meeting can be arranged with the Minister.
