Indian Army Denies Report of China’s Intrusion Inside Indian Territory

Itanagar, September 4, 2019:

Indian Army has denied the reports of Chinese Army’s intrusion in the Indian Territory.

Earlier, there were reports of Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) entering inside the Indian territory in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh.

In a latest statement, the Indian Army stated that the area being referred to in the recent reports is that of Fish Tail. It added that the terrain is thickly vegetated and all movements are undertaken on foot along Nalas and streams.

It further clarified, “During monsoons whenever the Nalas are in spates, temporary bridges are constructed by the patrols for their movement,” adding that being an area of differing claims, Army troops often patrol along the Doimru Nallah.

The statement also said that there is ‘no permanent presence’ of either Chinese soldiers or civilians in the area and that the Indian Army maintains the surveillance.

Indian Army cleared the confusion by stating that India and China have well established diplomatic and military mechanisms to address all the issues along the border.

Moreover, the latest statement read, “The two sides agree that maintenance of peace and tranquillity in all areas of India-China border areas as a prerequisite to smooth development of overall bilateral relations.”

Arunachal MP Tapir Gao, had earlier confirmed the reports of Chinese intrusion. He said that a wooden bridge was constructed by the Chinese PLA over Doimru Nallah near Chaglagam.

The MP said that the Chinese Army had constructed the bridge over a month ago.

Chaglagam is located in Arunachal Pradesh’s Anjaw district. It shares its boundary with China.
