Land allotment certificates to be distributed to landless in Hailakandi on Sunday

Hailakandi, November 2, 2018:

The Hailakandi district administration is organising a function for ceremonial distribution of land allotment certificates among landless people on Sunday.

Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan disclosed that 240 land pattas would be distributed amongst General, SC, ST, OBC and tea tribes at a function to be graced by Minister Sum Ronghang as chief guest.

Of the 240 pattas to landless indigenous people, 110 will be allotted to General category, 31 to SC, 09 to ST and 22 to OBC and tea tribes under Hailakandi, Algapur, Katlicherra and Lala revenue circles.

"We have regularised the land allotment work with holding of Sub DIvisional Land Advisory Committee meetings every month since the last six months. As a result, 240 eligible landless indigenous families will receive land allotment certificates on Sunday," said Khan adding that this has been done at the instruction of the Chief Minister.

Distribution of land allotment certificates to eligible landless indigenous people has been going in different districts across the state, including Karimganj.
