Meghalaya: UDP MLA Brolding Nongsiej Sworn-in as Cabinet Minister

Shillong, September 18, 2019:

Two-time Democratic Party (UDP) MLA, Shri H Brolding Nongsiej took the oath as Meghalaya Cabinet Minister today.

Nongsiej was sworn in at a function held in the presence of Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy at the Raj Bhawan.

Now he is the 12th Minister in Conrad K Snagma-led Meghalaya Cabinet. He has filled the post of Minister, following the resignation of Metbah Lyngdoh as the Tourism Minister to get elected as the Speaker of Meghalaya Assembly.

Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) had decided to promote Metbah Lyngdoh, who represents Mairang Assembly constituency as an MLA, to the post of 10th Meghalaya Assembly Speaker.

Shri Brolding Nongsiej is an MLA from Mawthadraishan. However, it is yet to be known whether Nongsiej will be holding the same portfolios as Metbah Lyngdoh.
