Muslim girl from Gohpur to play the role of Krishna in Raas Mahotsav

Gohpur, November 22, 2018:

A Muslim girl from Gohpur will be playing the role of Lord Krishna in Raas Mahotsav.

The girl, namely Anjali Khatun speaking on the issue said that she is very excited that she is going to play the role of Krishna for the very first time. She added that she has been supported by almost everyone in the region.

It may be mentioned that Rass dance is part of the traditional story of Krishna described in Hindu scriptures such as the Bhagavata Purana and literature such as the Gita Govinda, where he dances with Radha and her sakhis.
