Nagaland gets Rs.2.33 crore flood relief

Dimapur (Nagaland), September 13, 2018:

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said the state had so far received flood relief of over Rs.2.33 crore from over 40,000 donors from across the country.

Earlier, he had sought help from the Central government and other organisations. Among the donors was actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

The state faced tremendous losses after the monsoon rains had hit the state this year. Twelve lives were lost and 532 villages and 48,821 families affected. Altogether 359 roads were also damaged due to flood and landslides. The state government said Rs.800 crore would be needed to repair the damages.

State Governor PB Acharya expressed dissatisfaction at the minimum donation which the state received.
