Northern India Diaries by Jisu Sharma:

Hi my name is Jisu and I am going to take you with me to small trip of northern part of our country India. So before travelling to one of the northern part let’s start from the core of our country. DELHI DILLI or DIL Li. Yap this place is the heart of our country.

Which country are you from?  USA, China, Russia or the Vatican City. We can divide each country in our world into four different pies. Basically the Northern Eastern Southern and Western.

27th February

Our trip started from  our own Lokopriya Gopinath Bordalai Airport. Landed over the heart of the country where you can find people earning  Rs 10 a day to 1 lack a day, where you can find both Modiji and the complaint box Kejriwal,  where there are places like G.B Road and C.P. Yes I am talking about Delhi. The journey from Terminal 1 to New Delhi Railway Station gave me brief view of our country. Accept it or not; doesn’t matter how much we try, there are some between us which will always bound us to divide our country into classes.

Anyways, before going towards Railway Station we planned a trip to Sarojini Market which is about 15 minutes from the station. The by 5pm we caught a train and started our journey to Chandigarh.

28th February

On the night of 27 we reached Chandigarh and took a nice sleep because we had to get ready for today morning as we all are travelling to Amritsar. We started our journey by 10:30am. It was 5 hours journey to Amritsar and to Wagah Border it was nearly 6 hours.

Wagah Border

“Jaan toh woh bhi de raha;

Jaan toh hum bhi de rahe;

Jaan dena mein byasth rahoga

Toh yeh jaan jiyega kaun”

Patriotism, competition and sacrifice can be seen in this place. India, my country is best of all; but what about Pakistan? Where does it stand? Isn’t there soldiers are sacrificing their life too. Aren’t they securing their country by standing near the boarders?

To get an answer to all such question come and visit Wagah once. Program starts with a bang from 5:00 pm and ends exactly at 5:30. This half hour I bet will give u Goosebumps.

Golden Temple

Also known as the Daarbar Sahib, is located in the city of the tank of nectar of immortality i.e Amritsar. The place was founded by fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das  but later on comleted by Guru Anjan Das. The construction started by late 1577. The Adi Granth or the holy book of Sikhism is installed inside the Harmandir Sahib. It also has the Akal Takht. In short, this place is also a part of breath taking moments.

Around 750kg of Gold are present here. So my dear ladies, you should pay a visit.

1st  March

Partiotion Museum And Jalianwalah Bagh

Who is responsible for the partition? Was it Gandhi; or the Pakistan Movement started in Aligarh University.?

History of our country before and after Independence, the dirty game of Politics, dark night of India all are present in this place. Partition Museum gives us a brief view of all the events held during late 20th century. How partion took place, how the victims were punished, girls were raped and poverty was in mass. The only person that were enjoying was the man with rose in his pocket and his family.

(Haan ji Pappu ki Papa ka maa ki papaji , Ram Ram)

And about Jalianwala Bagh I guess we all know Legend Bhagat Singh and his sacrifice.

During the night of 1 march we packed our bag and moved towards Haridwar. But before starting Haridwar some of the places that should be visited in Amritsar are:

Sadda Pind

Mandir Mata Lal Devi

2nd March and 3rd March

Haridwar and Rishikesh

Every tourist irrespective of their country come here to see the Aarti or the Pujas done near the Ganga. After the death of any persons in a family Hindu families comes to the bank of ganga to give pind(giving away the ash on the river) as a courtesy to their family member.

Yoga and place of worship is Haridwar.

 Moksh and gateway of God is Haridwar.

Peace and Eternity is Haridwar

Rishikesh was the last stoppage of Uttarakhand of our journey. So in short place for rafting,bungie jumping and flying fox; ITS RISHIKESH.

4th 5th 6th March

The last 3 days we spend in the land designed by LE COURBUSIER, Chandigarh, The City of Beauty.

With little bit ups and downs we went to places like the Sukhna Lake, Sector 17 Plaza, VR Punjab and Sector 22 Sastri Market.

Chandigarh is based on a Grid Plan. So each and every sector is more or less same looking. The only sector that is missing is sector 13. Le Courbusier was the Architect who designed this place. After 1947 Lahore went to Pakistan and Punjab needed a new capital, so Chandigarh was designed as a new Union territory and capital of Punjab and Haryana.
