Section 144 CrPC imposed in Dima Hasao

Halflong, March 6, 2019:

The District Magistrate of Dima Hasao on Wednesdays has imposed section 144 CrPC in the district following the recent situation of unrest in the district as Indigenous Students’ Forum (ISF) and Indigenous Women Forum (IWF) has announced indefinite rail blockade from 5 am on March 7 demanding “immediate payment of B.G line conversion affected compensation’.

In the order, Amitabh Rajkhowa, District Magistrate, Dima Hasao, Halflong stated: “It has come to my notice that some organizations are going to take up some agitation programme like Rail Blockade etc. and in my opinion, it will cause disturbance of the railway passengers in places.”
