Terrorist Who Managed Vehicle for Pulwama Attack Shot Dead

Anantnag, June 18, 2019:

On Army Jawan was martyred in an encounter with militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag today. Two hardened Jaish-e-Mohammed militants, Sajjad Maqbool Bhat and Tawseef Bhat were also killed in the encounter today, sources have confirmed. They were both residents of Anantnag.

It has come to light that Sajjad was the one who managed the vehicle for the Pulwama terrorist attack on 14 February in which as many as 40 CRPF jawans were martyred when a Jaish militant rammed an IED laden SUV into a military vehicle in Kashmir's Pulwama district. Tauseef was the handler of the suicide bomber, sorces have confirmed.

Police believe that one more terrorist is still hiding in the area.

The encounter comes a day after an Army vehicle was targeted with an IED at a village in Pulwama, just 27 km from the site of the infamous suicide attack of February 14. Two soldiers were martyred and 18 were injured on Monday's attack.

It may be mentioned that the armed forces have lost 10 men in five days in anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
