US CONSUL GENERAL MEETS ASSAM CM

Guwahati, October 27, 2018:

Consul General of the United States of America Patti Hoffman (Kolkata Consular District) met Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati.

During their meeting, various aspects related to tourism, education, investment, Act East Policy besides other issues were discussed.

The Assam government is working to strengthen its tea industry, its tourism potentiality and bio-diversity related sectors along with foreign policy. The Government has taken various schemes for transforming the state into a Gateway to ASEAN and BBN countries, Sonowal said after the meeting.

On the other hand, Hoffman informed that the US has been enthusiastically watching these sectors to strengthen its ties and partner with Assam to enhance mutual interests.
