Guwahati, October 5, 2018:

India cricket captain Virat Kohli smashed his 24th century in Test cricket on Friday.

He achieved the feat on the second day of the first Test against West Indies in Rajkot. He was unbeaten on 74 at the end of play on Thursday. This is the second ton for India in the match so far after debutant Prithvi Shaw’s swashbuckling 134 on Thursday.

This has been a gritty century for Kohli as he becomes the fastest batsman since legendary Don Bradman to score 24 Test hundreds.

As captain, it was 17th ton, second against the Windies and 59th overall in international cricket. Further, this is the fifth time that Kohli hit at least seven hundreds in a calendar year.
