Guwahati, May 1, 2019:

Troops of the Assam Rifles and Jirighat police conducted a raid and nabbed 4 militants belonging to the banned Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) from Namdailong village, located near the Assam-Manipur border in Cachar district of Assam.

The militants have been identified as Ahed Kamei, Namreihing, Goijunglung, and Ilang Pamei, respectively.

The personnel seized AK47 rifles (with ten live bullets), 9MM guns (with five live bullets) and M16 rifles (with six live bullets).

Moreover, twenty-one live bullets, five mobile phones, four SIM cards, pan cards, and extortion money were seized from their possession.

The militants are currently undergoing interrogation at the Jirighat Police Station.

Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), also known as Zeliangrong Tiger Force (ZTF, the armed wing of ZUF) is an active group formed in 2011.
